Understanding DSO settings in Cartwheel
Last updated: May 12, 2026
Learn how to configure your DSO calculation settings and filter the average DSO displayed on your home page.
Overview
Cartwheel now includes configurable DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) settings that let you control how DSO is calculated and displayed. These settings are managed in two places: Global Client Settings (for calculation rules) and the home page (for display filtering).
Step 1 — Configure your DSO calculation settings
How to get there
Open the app and go to Settings
Select General Settings
Locate the Global Client Settings tile
Click Edit
You'll find two configurable options:
Look back window
Sets how far back Cartwheel looks when calculating DSO. Default is 8 weeks.
Last business day
Defines the last business day of each period for DSO calculations. Default is Saturday.
Note: These defaults (8 weeks / Saturday) determine how DSO is calculated across your account. Update them to match your firm's billing cycle before reviewing DSO data.
Step 2 — Filter average DSO on the home page
Once your settings are saved, navigate to the Home page. The Average DSO tile now includes a date range filter.
Available filter options
Last 30 days
Last 60 days
Example
Last 90 days (default)
Custom range
Note: Selecting any option will immediately update the Average DSO value displayed on your home page to reflect that time period. Use a custom date range to view DSO for any specific window you choose.
